The Siege of Quebec, effectively ended the French and Indian Wars. Under the command of General James Wolfe the British attempted to overcome the strong defenses and garrison at Quebec in June of 1759. After failing to achieve anything the British were about to withdraw until they noticed a small cove that allowed Wolfe to land a large amount of troops under the cover of darkness on September 13th, 1759. Having landed troops this allowed the British forces to advance to the Plains of Abraham where they engaged the French Army. Both General Wolfe and the commander of the French forces Marquis de Montcalm were mortally wounded.
