Monier Monier-Williams (1819-1899) was a British scholar who was the second Boden Professor of Sanskrit at Oxford University. He studied, documented, and taught Asian languages, especially Sanskrit, Persian, and Hindustani. According to Saurabh Dube, his work Hinduism (present example) is "widely credited to have introduced the term Hinduism into general English usage.”
