plates, including title, maps and list of flags. The double page plate maps in this complete
work are bound on stubs, together with a table at thr rear listing all map titles. All maps are outlined in colour in contemporary hand with yellow wash borders; title of maps in old
brown pen on verso of each map. Maps are generally very good, if age tinted, but the last
several maps show faint old dampstaining to outer margins. The plate area of most maps is approx. 10.25x 8 inches. This rare work first appeared in 1748, with further editions printed in the 1750 and 1760’s .
