This is the first edition in Turkish Arabic of this beautiful work and, therefore, it is incredibly unique and scarce. The more common versions of this work are with French text only. Its 16 colour lithographs, drawn on stone by M. Julien, include 80 costumes of officials, ministers and military officers of the Ottoman Empire. Despite pages claiming that this book is volume 1, another volume was never published in any language, therefore the book is complete within itself. Mushir Arif Pasha carried out several military missions for the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Abdülmecid I, in places such as Greece and in Syria.
